When I started this blog, my plans had been to update regularly on my (our) journey through my 1st pregnancy. But what I didn’t realize (which I guess part of the process) is that pregnancy is very time consuming. You’ll understand what I mean in a minute, but fist I want to apologize for keeping every one hanging for so long. After a loving harassment from a loved family member, I’m forcing myself to stay awake and write…
Pregnancy Fatigue
After 9 weeks of pregnancy, I never be so tired in my life. Trust me; I know what it is like to be tired. I was one of those oh-so lucky college students to experience mono. Woo-who! The exhaustion that a women experience while in her first trimester is almost unbearable. It hits at any time and when it hits, it hits with force. When I get home every night I head straight for the couch. That is where I lay until 9 p.m. (which is my new bed time).
If you can wrap your head around this, and don’t worry, it took me a while to fully comprehend myself, the reason why I am so exhausted, is due to the fact that I am creating another person.
(Synonyms for Creating: forming, building, crafting, constructing.)
At week 5, all major organs were forming. Almost two weeks ago, my baby’s arms and legs literally “sprouted”. His/her kidneys are almost ready to start working. This week, his/her eye lids are forming – Eye Lids! Crazy huh?
Morning Sickness/Appetite
I have been fortunate enough to not have hardly any morning sickness. I do have a bone to pick with my appetite however, where the heck are you these days?! I miss food – I love food – Oh please come back soon. I eat when I can. I force food down, I have to – there’s an olive size baby in me.
Food cravings:
Popcorn – I have never experienced movie theater popcorn before now and it is AMAZING.
Fruit – It’s my most powerful craving by far.
OJ – I have to have this every day. Not to mention I always have a Clementine in my purse (ok, sometimes 2)
Cereal – I wouldn’t say I crave it – it’s just part of who I am.
Ice cream – I have limited myself with this one. I have to. I could eat ice cream every day.
The worst soreness ever…
“The Girls” is what I will refer to them as, well The Girls; they’re experiencing a soreness that could have never been imagined before pregnancy. A new policy has been put in place, which is a very hard policy for you-know-who, “You can look, but you can’t touch”. If you have never been pregnant before, you will understand, I promise.
So far, after 9 weeks, lets’ get this show on the road folks! I ready for the baby bump, the nesting stage, the baby shopping, the baby proofing, the ENERGY! Bring it on…I’m ready for the “fun part”!!
